A Fantastic Evening at the School Sports Partnership Awards

Withernsea Primary School are incredibly proud to share the success of their children at the School Sports Partnership Awards, held at Longcroft School on Tuesday 7th July. 

The highlight of the evening was being named Active School of the Year 2026, an award recognising our commitment to providing high-quality PE, school sport and physical activity opportunities for all of our children. To be chosen from 77 schools across the partnership is a fantastic achievement and one that everyone at Withernsea Primary School is immensely proud of.

It was also a brilliant evening for the school teams. The Girls' Football Team were awarded Runners-Up in the Outstanding School Team of the Year category, while the Swimming Team and Mixed Football Team also finished as runners-up in their respective categories.

Alongside team successes, a number of children received individual awards and runner-up awards. With hundreds of nominations submitted across the partnership, it was wonderful to see so many of Withernsea's children recognised for their commitment, determination and sporting achievements.

These awards are a reflection of the hard work and enthusiasm shown by the pupils at Withernsea throughout the year, as well as the dedication of the staff and volunteers who give up so much of their time to provide opportunities beyond the classroom.

The school are incredibly proud of every child who represented their school this year, whether they were recognised with an award on the night or not. Their attitude, teamwork and determination are what make Withernsea Primary School such a special place.
