Schools joining the Trust will benefit from the wide range of school improvement activities undertaken with staff at all levels.

A match of need to expertise will ensure bespoke packages, led by experienced School Improvement Practitioners, are designed and implemented to meet the evolving needs of individual schools.

Strengths and specialisms within individual schools are shared across the Trust for the benefit of all.

Research and Development

HCAT strives to be at the forefront of international educational practice

Dedicated ‘Evidence Champions’ in each school regularly undertake action research projects. This network of practitioners are supported by the NLE Research and Development Lead for Hull Collaborative Teaching School and an SLE research lead.

HCAT schools are committed to identifying, nurturing and harnessing the talents of staff at all levels.

Across our family of schools, we currently have:

  • 4 National Leaders of Education (NLE)
  • 1 Local Leader of Education (NLE)
  • 50 Specialist Leaders of Education (SLE)
  • A dedicated School Improvement Team with specialists in Reading, Writing and EYFS
  • 3 serving Ofsted Inspectors
  • Trustees with headship, SIP, Local Authority, DfE National Strategies and Ofsted experience
  • 2 National Leaders of Governance (NLG as Trustees)
  • Continuing Professional Development including NQT, RQT, leadership development and Leadership support.
  • Curriculum subject networks and sharing excellence experiences.
  • Expertise within the management systems including building, bid writing, health, financial, health and safety and legal.

Continuing Professional Development

 

All Newly Qualified Teachers and Recently Qualified Teachers are offered a bespoke training programme and access to a Professional Partner coach and mentor through their early career. 

This investment continues throughout the career ladder with regular opportunities to share best practice through ‘Excellence Weeks’, Teaching Research Groups (TRGs), Curriculum Development Teams, in-house staff training, middle and senior leadership development opportunities and half termly Headteacher development days.

HCAT regularly hosts and participates in national and international conferences accessing world class key note speakers.
